Yellow Mirror

Oil on canvas, 2015

My work explores the relationship between societal formality and the facades used to keep one's true nature clandestine. It originates from themes found in our personas that are used to catalyze interactions that humans use to form bonds, without subjecting one another to the true nature of our strangest, most powerful beliefs. Eventually, as time passes and shared moments build upon one another, the masks of our representative-selves come off; revealing our true nature and showing how deeply into psychologically uncharted territory we wade with those of similar beliefs.
