Artwork #90

Larry Akers

Mixed media: aluminum, acrylic and wood, 2018

Two sheets of painted perforated aluminum layered over a colored backdrop create a space of indeterminate depth full of hexagonal figures that appear to respond to every viewer's movement. The figures slide from side to side as the viewer passes, shrink and become more numerous if approached and grow larger when further away. Enjoy the pure sensual experience of the piece or figure out the geometric puzzle of how it works.
