A Mother's Anxiety: Watching
Graphite on paper with cut-out elements, 2015
This is number 5 in the series, "A Mother's Anxiety". I have been working on this series for the past 10 years. Each large drawing takes between 3-5 years to complete. The task I have set for myself is to make each piece as complicated as possible so that each mark represents a moment of my anxiety while my son was a soldier in Iraq. This piece depicts the endless TV news watched in search of him.
