I discovered the lone egret this past Summer, fishing in my neighborhood park. One evening in July he was joined by another and I watched them frolic around in the creek together. That was the last time that I saw him. I missed him so much that I decided to paint his likeness for my own enjoyment. I was so impressed by the egrets wing span and beauty, that I chose to paint him in flight. Since then I've taken several trips to Lady Bird Lake to catch a glimpse of them returning to their roost around dusk.
