Water is an essential component in ceramics and yet it escapes without a trace when the work is finished. Part of my goal is to show the shadow of the water that disappears in this process. Water is the facilitator of the form and my sculptures emphasize that reality in their cascading movements and coiling arabesques. Reaching toward a natural form, they resemble both animate worlds and inanimate objects. An expression of golden ratios and entropy, these stoneware constructions gesture lithely in the middle, like an anatomical intermezzo.
