Oil on canvas, 2018
I began my career as an artist in Santiago del Estero in northern Argentina. Years later, when I moved to Austin, Texas I was immediately struck by the similarities in landscape and climate between the two locations. Due to similar distances north and south of the equator, Austin’s plants, flora, and even the angle of the sun across the sky reminded me of my home. "Ocaso" is an example of this landscape similarity. It also represents my broader style of using images, colors, experiences, light, shapes, and moments of the day to create emotion.
