As I drive or ride a train through rural India, I see these women adorned in gorgeous dupattas (scarfs). Someone told me that the name of this piece should be “Three Wise Women”. I see the resemblance...and funny enough, it’s true. Laughing, walking, gossiping as they go to the well to fetch daily water, there is a simplistic beauty that fascinates me. I attempted to capture a sisterhood that breeds wisdom which cannot be obtained from fancy degrees or an education.
